If you read my blog you learned that I love quotes, and that I sometimes post the same quote again and again. I don’t know how to describe it other than by saying this: I read or hear a sentence and it’s like something rings in my chest.
There is one that I cannot imagine myself not knowing anymore: “Rise to the occasion of your one and only heart” (Steve Almond). When I first heard it I felt like I had been knocked over.
“If you asked me to draw a picture of myself I’d draw two. One would be a portrait of a happy, self-confident, regular-looking woman and the other would be a close-up of a giant gaping mouth that’s ravenous for love. Many days I have to silently say to myself: It’s okay. You are loved.”
